Aristo Rogers 2-4-2

I made mine into a 1:20 logging switch locomotive. I did an article about the kitbash in July 2001 issue of Finescale Railroader magazine.

The locomotive has two motors one for each driver. The drive wheels have fiber tires that become brittle and crack over time and need to be replaced. I had new drive wheels made without the slot for the fiber tires. I had a machinist make me new drive wheels using stainless steel. I think it cost me about $40. The original drive wheels have slots cut into the wheel to install traction tires. I didn't care for the traction tires, that is why I had new wheels made. I will work just fine with the original wheels. The tires are used to provide better traction to the locomotive.

The Aristo Rogers 2-4-2 that I purchased came with a slope back tender. I use the tender all the time since the sound system (speaker and board) is installed within the tender.

I increase the side door openings and back opening. I removed all the oversize brass wires and install new lines with a number of new accessories.
