"Minnie" the mogul

This picture of a tiny loco in one of my George Abdil books set me to thinking about modifying the Bachmann 2-6-0 " Indy" that I bought and never really liked. So, I took the Indie all apart and started planning the conversion.

After a number of stumbling starts, a stack and cowcatcher from Delton, a sand dome from a 10-wheeler that turned into a steam dome, a sand dome that I turned on my little lathe and a few adjustments on the cab and we were on our way.

A few changes in the tender to add a little flair...

and success is getting close!

A little paint, some brass colored mylar and some red and gold auto pin striping tape and she's ready to turn loose.

Let's not forget Stan Cedarleaf's wonderful decals, right down to the gold stars on the driver's hubs.

Now she needs some cars to pull.
