Connie's Cab

There is a gorgeous 2-8-0 C-22 taking it's turn to pull cars around the Georgeton Loop in Colorado. I don't know the history of the loco but it is a outside frame oil fired connie and in my opinion the loco that Bachmann SHOULD have modeled. The boiler extends beyond the end of the cab but the cab is open and it all works beautifully on my B-mann connie.

Removing the back wall doesn't seem to have hurt the structural integrity of the cab at all and I think it looks great.

After I converted my Bachmann 2-8-0 into an oil burner, I realized that I no longer needed a firebox door. I found a mysterious piece of plastic in a junk box and fitted it to the place where the door had been. I drilled a small hole in the "thing" and added an inspection flap. The Bachmann flickering light shows through the hole but you have to look REAL hard to see it. I also added part of a generator to simulate the blower that is part of an oil fired engine.
