More Bachmann railtrucks

This truck was done for a friend.

It started as a light green railtruck and we decided that it needed to be a deeper green color. So, the cab, hood, headlights, and those mysterious pots on the fenders came apart and were sprayed with Krylon Hunter Green. Much better. Then I found a bag full of plastic sheep and rams in my animal box and that sparked the idea of a job for this vehicle. The "mail" box and the circuit board went away and a 6 volt regulator and a smaller box to cover it were built. The headlights now have 3 volt grain of wheat bulbs wired in series. The farmer types are held to a wooden floor with tiny screws and the sheep are just squeezed into the remaining area. I'm reluctant to weather the truck because the color looks so good.

The next version was based on the (apparently) only known photograph of a rather crudely made wooden box to haul freight. The three gentlemen in the picture blocked the view of some critical details so some imagination went into the construction of the model.

The truck is new and hasn't been touched. It will be weathered heavily and the box will age some as well. I don't know just when the prototype was built and used but the truck must have been getting along in years when the box was added. But then again, maybe not.....
