Chris Walas....
Fairlie double-boiler.....

The management of the Rogue County Narrow Gauge RR took possesion of its newest piece of
motive power, an 0-6+6-0T Fairlie double-boiler locomotive. This engine was purchased with
the intended use of pulling the ever-increasing number of excursion trains, or "picnic"
trains as they are called here.

The ANNA, as she is named, has performed admirably in her preliminary trials and great things are expected of her.

It was ,however, disconcerting to the management when it was discovered that this "Fairlie
Patent" engine was in fact NOT built under agreement with the Fairlie organization. Apparently
the builder (Rhamshackle Iron Works) merely falsified the Fairlie Patent plate in the hopes of
disguising the companies blatant disregard for the originator's rights. It is felt that the
management may be forced to have a severe conversation with the Rhamshackle representatives.

Nonetheless, ANNA is here to stay and a welcome addition to the line's growing number of these "double-enders"
Another double-boiler....
