Bachmann Spectrum 4-4-0 "American"

I always believed the Bachmann Spectrum 4-4-0s and 2-6-0s were an untapped resource. Given that the Narrow Gauge Bubble burst in the 1890s, it is not surprising that the vast majority of locomotives operated on NG lines through to the 1930s were infact simply upgraded locos originally built in the 1870s and 1880s. For this reason, I think the 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 would have had a very good market if options were offered for 1920s-30s versions, such as found on the Nevada County NG, and several other lines. This model represents an easy and effective modernisation bash to the 4-4-0, including extended smokebox, rounded domes, new steel pilot and oil tank on the tender.
