2-6-0 #9
2-6-0 #9, started life as the "Lionel 0-6-0T".
I added a pilot w/foot-board, front coupler, pilot deck, front and rear headlights, many other details including a Ten Wheeler cab and much shortened Bachmann tender, real coal, short draw-bar, cab/tender floor plate, new ladder, etc. #9 has been converted to battery power using (2) 7.2 Radio Shack Ni-Cad 2.40Ah sub C's battery packs, "Remote Control Systems" remote control, "Sierra Sound", 3" speaker, switches, etc., all in the shortened Bachmann Ten Wheeler tender.

Ryanne my 3 year old granddaughter, play's with her "people" and watches as the way freight pulled by #9 slowly gains speed as it pulls out of "Lone Pine" station


Ryanne has been running the trains using a power pack since she was about a 1 1/2 years old, but now that I am switching to battery and remote control she really enjoys running "her" train and being able to ring the bell and blow the whistle. Here she is at the control of #9 as it drifts by.
